Pink Cadillac sounds like Prine got together a few buddies and a bunch of beer and recorded an album meant to be played loud. For fans looking to expand on their collections, this is a great album to show how serious Prine was about not being pidgeon-holed in one type of music. John Prine was returning home to Chicago in the fall of 1978, having just released the album Bruised Orange, as expected a folk driven effort. He was in Chicago to record his next album, Pink Cadillac, what would become first “electric” record.Just prior to entering the studio he and his new band hit the legendary Chicago concert spot, Park West.

Don't wake the dead up.
We're almost out. Hang on. Uh Oh here we go.
Well, you can just hold it until we get to the next town.
